Negros Cable TV Tops Cablelympics 2009

Dindo R. Amoyo, a cable technician of Negros Cable TV, topped the Cablelympics 2009 in the recently concluded 17th PCTA Convention last March 13, 2009 held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. As such, Mr. Amoyo was awarded a gold medal and cash prize of Php 5,000.00.
Noel Gotos of Satellite Cable TV ranked second and received a silver medal and cash prize of Php 3,000.00. Erwin Tagalo of Fil Products-Ozamis, who is in the top three, was awarded a bronze medal and cash prize of Php 2,000.00. The remaining top 8 contestants from many aspirants, on the other hand, each received a set of tools as their gift prize.

It was a really close fight between Mr. Amoyo and Mr. Gotos. It came to a point that both of them had to take the clincher questionnaire at the final round. Finally, Mr. Amoyo erased the 3-point lead of Mr. Gotos and took home the first place after successfully answering the technical question which is equivalent to 5 points. Negros Cable TV rejoiced during the awarding ceremony for bagging the first place.

Engr. Fernando C. Morales, co-chairman of the Technical Committee, Engr. Pat Manlangit, and Mr. Allan Dungao, PCTA president, congratulated the winners during the awarding ceremony.
The Cablelympics 2009, in the form of a Quiz Bee, was a half day affair and participated in by various cable TV companies nationwide. There were 11 cable TV companies that competed in the contest, among which are Asian Vision Cable Holdings, Inc., BCTV, Bogo Cable TV, Inc., Fil-Products, Kabankalan Community Antenna TV, Inc. (KCAT), L&S Cable TV, Inc., Negros Cable TV, Inc., News MPC Cable TV, Satellite Cable Network, Inc., SPR Cable TV, and Wesfardell Cable Services.
