Leo Wong Elected PCTA President
for 2009-2010
The members of the PCTA Board of Directors have elected Mr. Leo Wong, president of Camiguin Island Cable TV Corporation, as president of the association for the fiscal year 2009 - 2010 during the regular meeting of the board held last June 4, 2009 at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City.
Also elected with Mr. Wong as officers of the PCTA are the following directors:
- Mr. Arnel Merilleno - Vice President-Luzon
- Mr. Pacito Manlangit - Vice President-Visayas
- Atty. Marcelino Agana IV - Vice President-Mindanao
- Ms. Eloisa Balmoris - Treasurer
- Ms. Maria Antonette Belmonte - Corporate Secretary
Mr. Rodrigo Alejandro Montinola and Engr. Elpidio M. Paras were likewise elected and re-elected as Chairman of the Board and Vice Chairman of the Board, respectively.

The election of officers was held to coincide with the planning session of the members of the Board wherein the plans and activities of each committee, namely Internal Affairs, External Affairs, Programming, Technical, Special Events, Industry Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Finance, and the Cable Line, were identified and discussed. With seven new directors on the board this year, Mr. Wong presided in the reorganization of the committees and thereafter, he announced the corresponding appointment of chairmanship to each one, as follows:
- Internal Affairs - Ms. Maria Antonette Belmonte
- Website Development - Mr. Generoso Opiņa
- External Affairs - Atty. Marcelino Agana IV
- Programming - Mr. Arnel Merilleno
- Industry Development - Engr. Elpidio M. Paras
- Technical - Engr. Julian Z. Ventura
- Finance - Ms. Eloisa Balmoris
- Special Events - Ms. Amelita Ledesma
- Corp. Social Responsibility - Mr. Rodrigo Alejandro Montinola
- Cable Line - Atty. Anthony Parungao

During the session, the board reviewed the past accomplishments of the association and identified areas it could further improve. Mr. Wong asked the members of the board for suggestions to further make the PCTA stronger and more responsive to its members' needs and interests. For this year, the members of the board will focus on:
- Getting the members involved in the association and developing the membership base by holding activities such as management seminars. The website will be developed to become interactive while a regular email blast will be sent to all members to update them about the latest information and goings-on in the cable industry.
- Addressing issues and concerns such as MTRCB fees, excessive pole rental fees, imposition of franchise tax in the provinces, and others.

The board will have a formal oath-taking ceremony on July 15, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Hotel in Ortigas Center, after their second regular meeting which will be held at the PCTA office.
